This wine hails from the El Novillero vineyard in Carneros planted by the prominent Sangiacomo family in 1993 to the Robert Young clone of Chardonnay. The ranch itself has tremendous history. It's a textbook Carneros Chardonnay, cool climate, but easy-drinking and supple. It has focused green apple, white peach and lemon aromas with very subtle, well-integrated oak that adds just a bit of creaminess and a hint of vanilla through the silky, delicious finish. This is excellent fruit handled with great care and finesse. (92 Points)
