What You Should Be Drinking from Dry Creek Vineyard This Spring: 2019 Chenin Blanc, Fume Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc

Dry Creek Vineyard 2019 Dry Chenin Blanc Clarksburg ($12) There may be trendier Chenin Blancs in California these days, but as far as I'm concerned any discussion of the BEST Chenin Blanc in California should start with Dry Creek's dry Chenin, which this Loire Valley-inspired winery has been making for three decades now. This lovely, flavorful, clean white wine is a winner year after year, and this vintage is no exception. It has delicious honeydew melon, green apple and pear flavors with just a hint of ginger spice. And yes, you read that right, it's only twelve bucks. Highly recommended. (91 Points)

Dry Creek Vineyard 2019 Fumé Blanc Sonoma County ($16) This wine is a genuine California classic for me, now in its 48th vintage, and a tremendous value at this price. It's fermented and matured entirely in stainless steel for a racy, crisp profile and shows lovely grapefruit, grass and kaffir lime leaf aromas and has juicy grapefruit and passion fruit flavors with a clean, mouthwatering finish. This white has a long history, but it never gets old as far as I'm concerned. (92 Points)

Dry Creek Vineyard 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Dry Creek Valley ($20)  Another terrific Sauv Blanc from Dry Creek Vineyard, this one is made from SB clones 1, 21, 30 and 917 and is matured in stainless steel and 17% oak barrels just to add a bit of textural complexity. It has lovely lime, lemongrass and white grapefruit aromas, a burst of meyer lemon and tangerine on the palate, and a brisk, slightly creamy finish. Delicious and worth looking for. (92 Points)
