Unlike Spottswoode's flagship estate wines, Lyndenhurst incorporates fruit from some other growers around the valley, but this is an ultra-dependable wine that showcases the brilliant balance that you always get from Spottswoode's winemaker, Aron Weinkauf. The 2021 edition has deep color, aromas of black cherry, black currant, kalamata olive, and savory herbs. It's very supple and approachable at this young stage, with a velvety mouthfeel, lively fruit flavors and great overall balance. I don't think I'd hold this wine more for more than another 5 years - I just don't think it needs it. It's already gorgeous and ready to drink, so get to it! (94 Points)
