Rodney Strong Sonoma County Wines Reviewed: Great Value Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot

I recently received a shipment of some really nice under-$20 Sonoma County wines from stalwart Rodney Strong Vineyards in Russian River Valley, and I gotta say - they're really nice wines for the money. What  I love about them is that they're really straightforward, drinkable, and they don't try too hard to be more than what they are.

The Rodney Strong 2019 Sonoma County Chardonnay has a sharp new label and has precise citrus, peach and pineapple flavors with good length. At a retail list price of $17, you can probably find it for $15 or less and it's REALLY good for a Chardonnay from anywhere in that price range.

It's just a pure, sunny, drinkable red that draws you back for more. At only $20, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better Merlot for  the money.

Rodney Strong 2017 Sonoma County Cabernet SauvignonThe Rodney Strong 2017 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon has some black and red currant fruit, subtle herb notes and just a little bit of cocoa on the finish. The list price is $22, but you can probably find it a few dollars cheaper in a retail shop.

All three are highly recommended!
