Review: Scotto Family Cellars 2017 Dry Sangiovese Rose ($18)

This rose's deep pink color says it's most probably a saignee rose that has been bled off of ripe fermenting Sangiovese. As a result, it's more ripe and fruity and less floral than an early picked so-called intentional rose, but there's a lot to like in it. It's still youthful and fresh with violet, cherry and strawberry aromas and plenty of juicy bright red fruit in the mouth. It is fairly dry, I think, but mighty fruity. (89 points)
