ZD's First Sauvignon Blanc Release in 26 Years!
ZD's 2019 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc ($27) Represents the esteemed winery's first Sauvignon Blanc release in 26 years, and it truly shows why SB deserves a place in Napa Valley next to Cabernet Sauvignon. It is 100% Sauvignon Blanc fermented and rested in stainless steel, neutral oak, and concrete tanks, and the winemaker, Brandon deLeuze, has done a great job of working some layers and complexity into the white wine. It has a nose of green apple, kaffir lime leaf, lees and pink grapefruit as well as subtle notes of honey and hay. In the mouth, it's zesty and lively with plenty of apple, grapefruit and lime fruit that's unburdened by unnecessary oak flavor. Well done! (93 Points)
