Review: Smith & Perry 2015 Pinot Noir Oregon ($12)

This new value-priced offering is made by Van Duzer, an Oregon winery that has made steady improvements in recent years, and I think this wine is well-poised to compete with the very best value Pinot Noir brands from California, like Mark West. It has pretty violet aromas, blueberry and cherry pie flavors. It's almost more California than Oregon in the generosity of fruit. It's direct, focused and uncomplicated - quite charming, really. A great value - highly recommended. (88 Points)
