At around $45 Turnbull's general Napa Valley Cab has to be one of the best values in the entire Napa Valley. This estate-bottled wine is about double that price, and it does share some of the house style charm, in that it isn't over-blown, heavy and sweet. It has a good dose of rich, vanilla-laced new oak, but it also has really good acid and tannin, nice black fruit notes, light herb influences, a bit of licorice, and really good overall balance. Only 49 barrels produced, and it's really good.
