The color of this wine is so deep purple that it's almost too saturated for Pinot Noir, and the richness lasts through the intense first blackberry flavors, but then there's a decent amount of acid and tangy red fruit and brambly notes to bring it back into focus. My initial impression was that it's kind of heavy-handed, but by the second glass, I have to confess... it's growing on me.
