There's no shortage of superb Chardonnay from the North Coast these days, but some of them will set you back a pretty penny - often $40 to $60 for some of the better ones.
Rodney Stong Vineyards has been delivering some terrific Chardonnays lately, from its basic Sonoma County bottling ($14) to this
Reserve Chardonnay ($35). They both have nicely concentrated fruit, good body and moderate oak that fits the fruit flavors well. Made by
Rick Sayre with consulting winemaker
David Ramey.
